"Dissolution" is the thirty-fourth chapter of Blame!, and the fourth chapter of Volume 6.
Synopsis[]
Cibo and the handful of remaining Electrofishers have regrouped in the thirteenth cave of Toha Heavy Industries. Zuru gives Cibo a data package which was harvested from her previous corpse after their battle to enter Toha.
Mensab communicates by hologram with Cibo’s group. She explains that Toha Heavy Industries will teleport one cave at a time, and shows them how to reach an escape pod that can save them before the thirteenth cave departs.
The sections of Toha proceed to teleport, and are annihilated by intersecting with the City’s matter, as Mensab and the other factions predicted.
Cibo and the Electrofishers reach an escape pod as the thirteenth cave energizes for teleportation. Cibo operates the pod with a mental interface, allowing the refugees to board, but she realizes she will not be able to board the pod herself and launch it in time to clear the teleportation radius. She stays behind as the pod carries the Electrofishers to safety.
